Following is a list of items you
should consider including in your medical kit
when travelling to Mumbai or any other part
of India. Consult your paharmicist for brands
available in your country.

1. Aspirin or Paracetamol
(Acetaminophen in the US)- for pain or fever.
2. Antihistamine- for allergies, example
ha Fever, to ease itches from insect bites and
stings and to prevent motion sickness.
3. Antibiotics- consider including these
if you are traveling well off the beaten track;
see our doctor as the must be prescribed and
carr the prescription with ou.
4. Loperamide or Diphenoxylate- blockers
for diarrhoea; prochlorperazine or metaclopramide
for nausea and vomiting.
5. Rehydration mixture- to prevent dehydration,
example due to severe diarrhoea; particularl
important when traveling with children
6. Insect repellent, sunscreen, lip balm
and eye drops
7. Calamine lotion, sting relief spra
or Aloe Vera- to ease irritation from sun burn
and insect bites/stings
8. Antifungal cream/powder- for fungal
skin infections and thrush
9. Antiseptic (Povidone-Iodine)- for
cut and bruises.
10. Bandages, Band-aids (Plasters and
other wound dressings
11. Water purification tablets or iodine
12. Scicors, tweezers and a thermometer(Note
that mercur thermometers are prohibited by Airlines)
13. Sringes and needles- in case you
need injections in a countr with medical hygiene
problems. Ask your doctor for a note explaining
wh ou have them.
14. Cold and flu tablets, throat lozenges
and nasal decongestants
15. Multivitamins- consider for long
trips when dietary vitamin intaker may be inadequate.
